San Martin Horsemens Association

Founded in 1968

for the purpose of

promoting horses and horsemanship

A love for that most noble of creatures, the Horse, is the common bond
between our club members. To some, horses are merely a hobby;
for others, a way of life, and others, a dream.
The reason horses are a part of your life doesn't matter,
for we are in this together.

SMHA is here to help provide a focus for the strengthening of the horse community,
promote equestrian education and perhaps, most of all, provide an opportunity
to enjoy the fellowship with other horse people.

Through volunteer action:

SMHA offers our members a variety of events, such as pleasure trail rides,
potluck dinners, clinics, quadrille team practices and competitions,
playday/gymkhanas, competitive NATRC rides, overnight and
week long horse camping trips and educational monthly meetings.
As an organization we try to keep our members informed about activities such
as trails building and planning, and legislation that affects us as individual horse owners.

The Eventer:

The club newsletter is published each month to inform members of club
activities, monthly calendar of events and community horse events.
Special articles introduce our Board and Committee Chairpersons, and
horse health questions are answered by attending veterinarian's.

Monthly meetings:

General club meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are usually held the
second Friday of each month. Club business and special monthly
programs relating to horse and rider are an integral part of every
meeting. Families and children are always welcome.
